A new site called Xtranormal.com allows you to put in a script, add some actions, and generate a movie with computer speech and computer-animated characters. Here’s a scene from “Spam & Eggs: A Johnny Denovo Mystery” in this format. Johnny and Mona are deliberating over a scrap of paper found in Winthrop’s hotel garbage by a cleaning woman.
It doesn’t begin to do the scene, characters, or book justice — Johnny’s much cooler, Mona’s much sexier, they’re supposed to be at a sidewalk cafe in France, and both speak accurately inflected English instead of gritty computerese, but there you have it.
I thought I’d post it as evidence of why human actors get major dollars to emote:
