Today, under my real name, I’m the featured post on a great mystery book blog called MurderBy4. In the post, I talk about how the inspiration emerged for my Johnny Denovo mysteries and the concepts underpinning the series, but with a dose of reader-centric pragmatism:
a highbrow concept is often the last thing you want as a reader, so I’ve buried the big concept in the more traditional things that make a series rewarding to read – great characters, witty dialog, fast action, interwoven social commentary or factual knowledge, and good plots that work both for each book and for longer dramatic arcs spanning several books.
Give it a read if you like getting behind-the-scenes with an author.
